It’s been 4 months since my last tournament the Philta Boy Leonara Cup last May. I was a bit rusty and nursing an injury I have an ingrown nail on both of my toes that’s why I can’t move easily but I’m making any excuses I lost to Miguel Vicencio the no. 1 rank in the finals of the 10 years and under category where I’m representing Luzon  it was a close 3 set match 1-6,7-5,6-10.

The 1st PHILTA Boy Leonora Memorial Cup was Gaby’s last tournament of the summer season. It was held at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center from May 20-26. Gaby ended the season with a Championship in doubles and a runner-up in singles in the 10 under category.

Gaby captured her 4th consecutive 10 and under title and won her 1st 10 & under doubles title with her cousin Julia Ignacio they beat the pair of Marco Macalintal and  Prince Luis Salvacion 6-1, 5-7, 10-2.  Gaby dominated the 10 under category,  she beat Julia Ignacio 6-1,6-0 in the quarters then won 6-0,6-1 over Shernard Ballon in the semis and won the title over Marco Macalintal 6-1,6-2. In the 12 under category she sailed in the finals via 6-0, 6-0 win over Penelope Ricamora and Angelyka Fortadez 6-0, 6-0 before losing to top seed Erika Manalo 5-7, 3-6.
